Cambridge University Thai Society
Cambridge University Thai Society (CUTS) is the central body representing Thai students at the University of Cambridge.
With more than eighty current members, a network of hundreds of alumni, CUTS aims to support Thai students in their academic
pursuit and general welfare, and to promote a better understanding of Thai culture among the wider community at Cambridge. Above all, CUTS aims to create a life-long bonds between Thai students in the University of Cambridge.
Throughout the year, we run a number of events including social gatherings, academic talks, career events, and sporting events and competitions. Every year, we also host one main event open to the public: Thai Festival.
This is an event where we present to over 300 guests with various authentic Thai performances, showcasing Thailand’s rich cultural heritage and diverse national treasures as well as the talents of Thai students. This key function will serve to promote the beautiful culture of Thailand among the wider Cambridge community.
We kick-started the term with the annual “Welcome Back Party”, welcoming the new students to the Thai family in Cambridge. Students who are continuing their study also get a chance to catch up with one another over pizza and make new friends through ice-breaker games. The event allowed all the Thai students to share advice in dealing with Michaelm as and Cambridge, have fun and enjoy the company of fellow Thais, before the term gets busy.
